Solar panels have become increasingly popular over time, providing a great way to save money and reduce your carbon footprint. Unfortunately, they also create a perfect home and breeding ground for birds like corvids and feral pigeons. 

Pigeons will ordinarily lay eggs 5-6 times in a year, but the warm and safe environment your solar panels offer means they can reproduce all year round. Before long, a mating pair will have multiplied and potentially caused serious damage to both the cables and panels. Your gutters will suffer too as the guano and nest debris fill and block the down pipe.

Working at height.

The majority of our work is carried out using a roof ladder harness system. This sets us apart from our competitors who will often include the cost of a scaffold in their quote. Towers or lifts are occasionally required where access is restricted but this is always a last resort to give you the best price possible.

With over twenty years experience our team are specialists in working at height. We have qualifications in IRATR (rope access), IPAF (cherry picker and scissor lift operations), PASMA (tower erections). We take no chances when it comes to the safety of our team.

    We use a high quality, rust-resistant, 19 gauge, 25mm galvanised steel aviary mesh as standard. Alternatively we can install a black PVC coated steel mesh, which works perfectly with dark framed panels to create nothing more than a shadow line when viewed from the ground.

    We use innovative, non-intrusive clips to fix the mesh in place ensuring your solar panel warranty is not affected. We are so confident in our materials and installation techniques that we happily offer a 10 year guarantee with our service.

  • License.

    Strict laws are in place protecting all birds in the UK, covered by the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981. We are fully licenced by Natural England to carry out the removal of birds and their nests.

  • Cleaning.

    Guano and nest debris quickly fill and block your gutters while the birds are in residence. We will clear all gutter systems directly below your panels as part of our standard service.

  • Extras.

    Our solar panel protection is generally enough to move any hopeful homemakers along. On the very rare occasions where they need a little extra encouragement (most often on coastal properties) we offer bird spikes and bird repellent gel as an extra option.
